Chris Hartman and Gene Wilson are the Youngstown, Ohio musicians behind alternative rock band Frederick Fleet. Fully self-published and self-funded since their inception in 2016.
The band’s debut album, The Vanity Suite (2018), was produced entirely in the basement of Hartman’s then-rental house and spawned fplus studios, the project’s publishing wing. Fast-paced and straightforward, the album contains angsty motifs and tight, guitar-driven songwriting.
Apocalyptics (2025), a seven-track concept record about living in the end times, is the group’s latest creation. In a dopamine-driven world, Apocalyptics provides some serotonin with longer-than-average track times and songs that connect seamlessly. It features a reimagined Sacred Harp traditional and haunting, dark-tinged originals.
